Panama Ports Company Projects
The ever-increasing demand for maritime services of the international commerce to do that Panama Ports Company is committed with the maritime future, transforming the two ports into major hub to serve the Atlantic and Pacific trade routes.
Through to the invest total of US$ 1,000 million in the Port of Balboa and Port of Cristobal (2008 and 2015), Panama Ports Company will be able to provide total capacity to handle 6.5 million TEU's. |

The Port of Balboa Container Terminal
Panama Ports Company invest US$ 300 million in the Port of Balboa with the purpose to expand its maritime operationes in 2008.
This invest will provide a significant boost to the economy, both locally and the all american region.
This expansion to consist of will increase the quay length available for container handling, giving a total quay length of 2,077 meters. Additionally, 22 quay cranes (Panamax and Post Panamax) will be able to provide total capacity at the Port will increase to 3 million TEU's.
Phase IV works, which began in 2005 in Balboa, will transform this port into a mega port.

The Port of Cristobal Container Terminal
Panama Ports Company invest US$ 200 million in the Port of Cristobal with the purpose to expand its maritime operationes in 2008.
This expansion to consist of will increase the quay length available for container handling, giving a total quay length of 3,731 meters.
Additionally, 10 quay cranes (Panamax and Post Panamax) will be able to provide total capacity at the Port will increase to 1.5 million TEU's. Cristobal's Phase I works, which also were begun in 2005, will transform this port into a world class port, and on a short term, into another mega port like the Port of Balboa
