This year’s Telethon flagship project will focus on strengthening and expanding the physical, therapeutic, and cardiac medicine services of the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (INMFRE). This project will be a joint effort between the private sector and the Active 20-30 Club and will benefit more than 100,000 people per year.
A group of Administrative and Operations employees from the Ports of Balboa and Cristobal deliver a check for $50,000 (USD) for the modernization project of the INMFRE which aims to contribute to the comprehensive rehabilitation of children, youth, and elderly adults with disabilities, improving their quality of life.

PPC’s Excellence Awards ceremony is designed to recognize the outstanding achievements of the employees of the Ports of Balboa and Cristobal. Hutchison Ports PPC met with Local Government and the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) to discuss the impacts of ongoing constructions near the Port of Balboa.
PPC organized a meeting with the AMP and the Communal Board of Ancon to discuss the construction of the fourth bridge over the Canal and Metro Line 3. While these projects are crucial for Panama’s economic growth and development, the meeting focused on potential disruptions for the residents and to the Port of Balboa operations during construction.

REPICA, a forum for port-related discussions, hosted Roxana Ortega, PPC’s Senior Manager of Port Infrastructure.
Her presentation “Dry Canals and their Importance in the Supply Chain,” highlighted Panama’s resilience in the face of climate change, through the innovative adoption of multimodal solutions, Panama has adapted its operations to mitigate the challenges posed by a changing environment.

Hutchison Ports PPC Welcomes the Finalists of the National Oratory Contest
Hutchison Ports PPC proudly opened its doors to welcome the 15 finalists of the National Oratory Contest, one of the most prestigious academic competitions in Panama, along with their advising teachers. During their visit, the students had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into port operations and their impact on Panama’s economic and sustainable development.
As part of the tour, the finalists explored the historical evolution of the ports managed by Hutchison Ports PPC and their strategic role in global trade. Additionally, the company’s commitment to technological innovation and environmental sustainability was highlighted, which are fundamental aspects to face the challenges of the future.
Hutchison Ports PPC CEO, Jared Zerbe, accompanied the students, answering their questions and sharing insights into port operations. Zerbe said: “It is an honor to welcome these young leaders, who represent the talent and future of Panama.
